Description
Large antique oil painting from a private collection. Features a woven basket of white, pale pink and yellow chrysanthemums in full bloom with foliage and flowers in bud. Signed P. or S. Calder, dated 1899. On the back of the frame in large pencil scrawl reads Mrs. Calder 189 Hughson South.
This painting had a horizontal 13 inch tear intersected by a 3 ΒΌ inch tear and a 1 1/2 inch tear. There is another 1 inch x 1 inch tear. There are also 3 small punctures on the back of the canvas and there is deterioration where the canvas is wrapped around the stretcher likely from removal of the frame. All professionally restored.
